WHAT OF THE FAILED GREENHOUSES?
……Now we have Nunua ploti na greenhouse!!!!!!!
Before making any coments, i beg to direct my opinions on the following articles ,i dont mean they are not worth, but since they are in the public domain, why not disect the information?
With an investment of only ksh 120,000 one is “guaranteed” a return of ksh 1Million per annum! Farming then must be really lucrative! mathematically, one would only have to invest ksh 240.000 into two greenhouses to be assured of ksh 2M within the year, alternatively, secure a loan of ksh 600,000 with a repayment period of 4years ,invest in the greenhouses (4 of 8by 15M) and within a season,as per the links 1 he/she will repay the loan fully and continue leaving DEBT FREE!
I doubt,if any small scale farmer can ever break even by planting Onions in a miniature greenhouse or rather an 8M by 15M greenhouse
a farmer testiony as per this link is also encouraging and mouth watering ,
Agroinfokenya has come across so many greenhouses across the country that have now turned to be stores, the school greenhouse projects have been key into ensuring the teachers have a place where the students can store their school bags during exams! (why on earth does a reputable company construct a tunnell in the coastal region with No ventilation?!!
as you Drive, cycle,or walk home…..how many greenhouse structures do you see? of all these, how many ,on closer look do you see a crop in it?….of all the ones with a crop in it,how many do you gauge have a serious crop in it?
We at Agroinfokenya pose the Quesion…What is the driving factor behid the failures of these projects? what are the companies involved in these projects doing to avert these? how many farmers have lost their investments as a result of the basic information provided to only encourage the farmer to Buy the structure?
The social media is awash with ”many would be millionaires” seeking buyers for their structures with a QUICK sale message, many have been demoralised yet many are still optimistic that something can be done in the right way, giving the right information and not just giving information TAILORED to Make sales.
we call upon the companies involved in these projects to MIND the customers,Mind the farmers as well as Protect the farmer investment by giving the right information at the right time and at the right costs.. after all,if the farmers fail, the sustainability of the projects /business is at risk as farmers will not Buy more.
We believe that proper attention is not offered to the small and medium scale farmers compared to the large scale farms ,after all, very few large scale farms have these problems due to unlimited access to information from these companies .
we at agroinfokenya seek to have the right information,we seek to convey this to the public without bias..as well,we seek to have the farming comunity shout at the top of their voice that It is NOT as it is said BUT as you want t to be..
we trust that with openess and honesty as displayed by such companies …https://illuminumgreenhouses.com/the-realities-of-greenhouse-returns/,farmers will feel safe in the hands of professionals.
quoting from http://www.farmerstrend.co.ke/read-pros-cons-investing-greenhouse-farming/ ”TRUE,There is MONEY in greenhouse farming. But it is not easy money, as the aggressive sellers of greenhouse technology would want farmers to believe.”
Kindly share your experiences , photos of FAILED greenhouses as well as those prospering to our page https://www.facebook.com/agroinfokenya/
